Mad Mouse

MadMouse1

I visited the Mad Pea sim and they were having an Easter hunt!  Lot’s of kids (and adults!) roaming around with their Easter baskets.  It was adorable.  What a lovely sim.  I took some pics there for fun in this very casual outfit.  Long hoodie sweatshirt is from LAKSHMI.  Comfy.  I loved the flyaway necklace grabbed from the ERSCH gacha and paired the whole thing with my trusty Fatewear sneakers.  The Wasabi Pills hair I LUCKED out on pulling the monotones after only 5 tries at The Chapter Four event.  As always, you can check out my FLICKR page for all my pics.  Outfit credits and more pictures are after the cut!

Just do it. FLF Rocks.

Sporty_MouseSo, how do you do casual in SL?  This is pretty much my go to look, especially if I’m shopping or hanging with friends.  Or building, or re-decorating my skybox.  I’m literally always redecorating my sky box.

I love this great casual set by miss Chelsea.  It fits perfectly.  This whole look is pretty much Fifty Linden Fridays (FLF), and if you’re new to SL, you simply must join this group.  Great fun can be had for as little as 50L, and you get to discover a whole bunch of new shops in SL. The hair is Wasabi Pills and the flip flops are by Livalle, and if they can’t get you thru the entire SL summer, I don’t know what will!  For those not in the know, FLF is a 24 hour sale.  The list goes out roughly Thursday evenings, or 12:00 a.m. Friday, and the sale features a variety of shops.  The owners of the shop will put out a new OR an older item in a new color or ‘refreshed’ somehow, for the low low price of $50L.  It’s a fun sale, and can be even more fun if you take a friend as you teleport around the grid.  Have fun!  As always, all my pictures can be found on Flickr, and the outfit credits are below the cut!

And where is Mouse taking these pictures?

Taking the plunge – the mesh body

Ok so, I’ve finally gone and done it.  I finally got a mesh body.
mouse5
I got a bunch of demos, tried a variety and finally settled on the Physique Mesh Body by SLink.  I like the body quite a bit, I already have the feet and hands, and I trust that the body will work for me. I found that I could play with the SL sliders and adjust various things to make it as close to my original shape as possible (already pretty much a standard medium).  I already had the Lara Hurley applier for my favorite skin, so that worked too.  I realized a couple of things as I started taking pictures of my hot new body (because let’s face facts..all bodies in SL are hot).  I would be spending a lot less time in photoshop fixing ragged edges on my avatar.  This can only be a good thing.  Clothing FITS me better.  Siddean provides free updates.  In other words, it’s all good, I can hardly go wrong. I thought that the price was reasonable!   And I’m already so far behind the curve on mesh that it was time to just do it.  I don’t know if I’ll involve myself with Mesh heads, but almost certainly NOT until the day they become editable.   So about the outfit.  I’ve had the pants and shoes for a while, and probably have worn them before in a post.  It’s the top I’m in love with.  Made by a new to me designer, Just Because, it fits wonderfully, and I love the color combo.  I expect to see great things from this designer in the future.  Anywho, I took a whole series of shots that you can find on my Flickr, and as always, outfit credits are below the pics.

Oh Taber, my Taber…

mouse_in_taber5

I have always lived in the beta sims, except for a short stint (I think) in Amira. I used to own quite a bit of Taber, and my old land is now owned by an old friend of mine in SL. I missed it so I flew over there to take a look and see what’s he’s been doing with it. Taber is right next to the Natoma sim, which houses the Ivory Tower of Prims. In Taber itself, you’ll find many objects that were created within the first year of Second Life’s existence. Kind of cool, the original windmill, the Fairchild park, and other cool objects. I like the historical significance of the area, and while it might seem really old school, it reminds me of the excitement of the old days. Of course, I’m wearing a few new things. I rarely change my skin, but I’m rockin Glam Affairs FLF special from this past Friday.  A great dress from Fishy Strawberry, new hair courtesy of Hair Fair, and some great Pure Poison sandals. Full credits below the pics, check out the whole series of pics on my flickr.
