I love me some Tres Blah. This is an adorable thing, this dress. It’s called the T-Shirt Dress, and it’s meant to be worn around the house, looking adorable. I’ve paired it with a couple of useful things in my inventory, the casual slip sneakers from Reign and a lovely hair from Doe that I’ve blogged in a different color before. As always, you can see all my pictures on my Flickr, and the full credits for this outfit are below the cut! Pictures are taken in my trusty skybox, using my Tillie’s Pose Stand! So I’ve been hunting and hunting for eyes that were…errr…me. And YAY! Finally I found them. And the winner is, Banana Banshee “Hely” eyes. I’m sort of weirdly picky about eyes. I could have gotten a HUD with 1500 different options. I tried a demo and was lost in about 5.5. I have this thing about Mouses’ eyes. First off, her eyes are grey, with a hint of blue. A bit steely. They go well with black hair. I’d actually found a few that were good enough, and even tried some of Banana Banshee’s other eyes, but nothing was working. Then found BB’s latest at Lost & Found and these are perfect. YAY. Oh and they were free. The grey eyes are the demo! The other eye colors are fantastic too so go check them out. The rest of the outfit is a comfy cardigan from BlueBerry and some great hair from Doe, a new to me brand that I find I like a lot and will prolly go hit up the main store, since the last 2 styles have been from Gachas. You can find more pics from this series on my Flickr, and as always, outfit credits are below the pics.
Nothing I like better than a perfect little spring dress from Tres Blah. Of course I picked the green. This came in such a variety of colors/combos, that I had a hard time choosing. But it’s Spring sooooo. The hair is new from Magika, called, “Fool for Love.” and it is dreamy and romantic. The jewelry is a little something I picked up a while back because I thought is was adorably imaginative – a pearl collar – perfection. As always, full credits are after the cut, and you can find the full set of pics from this series on my Flickr.
I imagined this particular dress should be worn on a starry night, spinning round and round. Of course in SL it’s possible to make this dream come true, but I would have needed a spinning emoticon, and then somehow figured out how to capture the shot. I can only keep trying! Ok so, I’ve finally gone and done it. I finally got a mesh body.
I got a bunch of demos, tried a variety and finally settled on the Physique Mesh Body by SLink. I like the body quite a bit, I already have the feet and hands, and I trust that the body will work for me. I found that I could play with the SL sliders and adjust various things to make it as close to my original shape as possible (already pretty much a standard medium). I already had the Lara Hurley applier for my favorite skin, so that worked too. I realized a couple of things as I started taking pictures of my hot new body (because let’s face facts..all bodies in SL are hot). I would be spending a lot less time in photoshop fixing ragged edges on my avatar. This can only be a good thing. Clothing FITS me better. Siddean provides free updates. In other words, it’s all good, I can hardly go wrong. I thought that the price was reasonable! And I’m already so far behind the curve on mesh that it was time to just do it. I don’t know if I’ll involve myself with Mesh heads, but almost certainly NOT until the day they become editable. So about the outfit. I’ve had the pants and shoes for a while, and probably have worn them before in a post. It’s the top I’m in love with. Made by a new to me designer, Just Because, it fits wonderfully, and I love the color combo. I expect to see great things from this designer in the future. Anywho, I took a whole series of shots that you can find on my Flickr, and as always, outfit credits are below the pics. Continue reading “Taking the plunge – the mesh body”→
Sorry couldn’t resist the pun. This dress is probably being blogged all over the SLUniverse, because it’s perfect. It comes in a variety of colors (actually TONS of colors), but I’m partial to orange, so there you are. It’s from Tres Blah, literally the only place I’ll buy anything without trying the demo (of course I don’t RECOMMEND this, I’m just saying it always holds true for me…). It also includes fittings for Maitreya and SLink bodies. The hair is from Elikatira, and I snagged it at last weeks FLF, I hope you did too. The shoes are also FLF, but this weeks, and all I can say is, try not to miss Fifty Linden Fridays in Second Life. It’s always a fun, goofing around shopping experience where you’ll see people you know or haven’t seen in a while! It’s always featured on Seraphim, so go look at the gallery on Seraphim, and make your decisions quickly. I’m not sure if either the hair or the shoes will be in the stores at full price now. I think they are both worth full price. Jewelry is an older piece of my own that you can get on marketplace. The full series of these pics are on my Flickr. As always, full credits and the Second Life buying guide are below the pics! Oh and a small style tip, Continue reading “Orange is the new black….”→
I have an entire folder in my inventory called ‘new clothes’ and it’s where I stash stuff till I actually wear it, then I file it in the gadzillion folders I have for clothes. The folder is huge at the moment. I have been buying for weeks and then wearing the same thing for days while I get sucked into working on something new! In any case I just bought this GORGEOUS dress from Sn@tch. LOOK AT THE SKIRT. I love it. I love wearing this – it moves with my av so beautifully, and looks like crepe. I tried it on this morning and thought, oh man I have the perfect shoes for this and pulled out the Ingenue special shoes from the last shoe fair, and walla! For accessories, I’m wearing my own FREE Alex hair – the flowers in the hair band mimic the flowers on the shoes. The jewelry is a new set that is out in the store, Delicate Drama earrings and bangles, an intricate design.
Hahahaahahahahah It’s my blog and I’ll do what I want to, do what I want tooooo…So I FINALLY have shadows working, in some fashion, on my laptop! I have a macbook pro with an nvidia card, if you’re wondering. I’m using Kirsten’s just released viewer. I tried taking some ‘good’ pictures and here’s what I came up with. They are a ‘little’ dark, as I’m still futzing with the various windlight settings. I’ve pretty much moved to using viewer 2, even for building, which I never thought I’d do, as I am a stubborn mouse. Now that I finished my new hair textures, which I’m quite proud of, I’m diligently working on creating sculpts ‘for’ my hair. I’m going to spend some seriously dedicated time to this, and probably won’t release anything new for a few weeks. In the meantime, I thought I’d share my first ‘shadow’ pics. I had to lighten them up in PS, of course, but I’m wearing my own ‘Antonia’ hair, my trusty tights from Royal Blue – still gorgeous after all this time and the skin I can never get enough of from Tres Blah. A lovely top from Ingenue in pink, the dreamy ballerina skirt from Doppelganger which I love, love, love. My own jewelry set, Bohemian Flare and J’s Sabo boots! Oh and new eyes, which I like lots from Illusory, I hope the pics are not too bad!
I’ve been working on a little project with Ms. Steeplechase, where the idea was to create an dramatic look suitable for an elegant occasion, like say, NEW YEARS EVE! Kess created the most lovely dress imaginable for Miao – and I put in my 2 cents with a dramatic jewelry set that takes advantage of the lovely low backed design of the dress. The dress, Rosalie, will be a limited edition in sapphire blue (I’m wearing the black). Pearls, that I’m calling the Soiree set, of course, because when fancy is called for, I always want pearls. Pearls draped over an elegant bare back, which IMHO is subtle sexy. I also designed the hair to go with this dress, an updo I am calling, Antonia. I hope you enjoy all these pieces they are available at the Miao and Dark Mouse stores, both in Amira. The poses for the outfit are specially made by Gidge Uriza, of Gesticulate! She’s moonlighting as a pose maker! These pics were taken at the lovely Embryo sim, all dressed up for winter.
