October’s right around the corner….it’s creeping crawling group gifty time!

So you may or may not know this bout me, but I love Halloween. Well actually I love candy corn. This love for candy corn borders on the insane – so I only allow myself to eat candy corn the 15 days before and the actual day of Halloween. Then I’m done for the year – no more candy corn till next year. IT’S THE ONLY WAY TO MAINTAIN CONTROL PEOPLE! Phew, I feel much better now. Anywho, last year I made a lovely little necklace called, the Spiders Crawling necklace. It was an exclusive gift for my group members only. Negotiating sharp turns

I’m in a Barerose kind of mood! I’ve been mooning around for a week, looking for something that would look good with one of my newest pieces, the Cascade of Beads set (necklace & earrings). Finally it hit me – go to BareRose! So off I went! I particularly wanted a jacket to wear with this look and the Negotiator fit the bill (as did the price)! I’m so busy in RL – negotiating all the things that are going on for me that the name seemed very appropriate. I’ve got way too much going on! Hopefully things will slow down soon and I’ll be able to build more. Soooo, after the jacket, I decided to pick up the golds in the necklace, and did a search on ‘gold’ in my inventory. The gold pinstripes from Cupcakes where just the thing, and lent some interest to the outfit. My new to me boots from J’s rounded out the look. I’m wearing League skin (I lurve this skin) and an ETD hair called, Lorraine 2. While you wouldn’t wear this in RL without a shirt, I decided that SL called for a bit of smexyness. Well a lot of smexyness. Oh hell it’s SL. I think I’m starting to get anxious and desperately need some fall clothes. I’m just waiting a some releases *taps fingers impatiently*. Oh REMINDER! Time to step up

After reading Cajsa’s excellent post on the incident at Rebel Hope Designs, I felt compelled to do something. I’ve linked her post for you as I feel that she can state the case infinitely better than I could. As a content creator, I know just how hard and long it takes to make stuff for SL. Most of us log on after our long RL day and work into the late hours for admittedly what is a labor of love. For me personally, and I know I’ve said it before, SL is the only opportunity I have for a creative outlet. I know a lot of other people feel the same way. And some have been at it for a lot longer than I have. I don’t know Rebel Hope, but I know I’ve shopped at her store in the past. I found this stunning confection of a new release gown there today – and paired it with a new set of my own and another lovely hair style from ETD. Divine Deco

I was fooling around one day with a sculpted prim – granted my sculpted prims skills are ‘coming along’ LOL so most days you can find me screwing with them. Since it takes me 4 times as long as anyone else to learn stuff, I have to give myself plenty of screwing around time. I’m a ‘oh, I get it’ kind of learner. I look at stuff repeatedly over a long period of time (and I do mean repeatedly) when suddenly a light goes on and ‘bing’ I get it. Any how, as I said, I was fooling around with a sculpted prim one day, and using a texture I had created to see how it would look on the prim when suddenly I did a repeat of the texture and ‘bing’ light went on. I was looking at a problem I had been considering for sometime – how to get a more realistic ‘marcasite’ texture effect on a prim. Suddenly I was staring at it. YAY! I immediately set about to creating a necklace in an Art Deco style that I admire most. The shimmery delicate effect of marcasite, a silvery black stone that was used in a lot of vintage jewelry and has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years. I wanted a necklace with this effect and I wanted it to have a tassel, another thing I’d been looking to do. And that’s how my most recent release, Divine Deco, was born. Cajsa was lovely and blogged it – we’ve had long discussions on her love for vintage deco jewelry. I wanted to show it off again! I love, love, love this piece. I love the fact that its creation came out of a ‘bing’ moment. For this post I wanted to pair it with a dress from PixelDolls, because I love all her dresses and had seen some on the feeds recently that caught my eye. I chose to go with the lovely ‘gala’ dress because of the colors, a striking red bodice that fades into a black full length skirt, and because the neckline worked well with my necklace LOL. I pulled some vintage pumps from Aphrodite Designs out of my inventory and a lovely ‘old school’ hair style from ETD that I feel is absolutely timeless – we need new hair from ETD! Finally – the base for ANY great look in SL a fabulous skin. I’m wearing the Horizon 3 Chai Nova skin from Launa Fauna which I was lucky enough to snap up while her weekend fatpack sale was on! No one, and I mean NO ONE does a matte lip like Launa. <3. OH – big important reminder! This necklace set and all my other new releases this past week are EXCLUSIVELY at the Jewelry Fair. Fighting the crowds.

There is nothing more satisfying than a perfect dress from Artilleri. When Antonia Marat released this new dress last week, I quite frankly shoved and fought my way past the crowds to get it. HAHA! Release day was like a scene out of Filene’s basement. There are many reasons to love this dress, starting at the jauntily turned up collar and ending at the perfectly draped fall of skirt. But for me, it’s simply the color. I cannot resist the combination of pink and brown. I HAD to have it. I’ve paired it with the charming ankle socks from Naive, and the Avanti flats from Celestial Studios and my own Felicja hair. The necklace and earrings are part of my new releases – the shell set. Dark Mouse at the Jewelry Fair!

Sooooo without further ado – I have my new releases for the jewelry fair. I really want to show them all to you, I have 4 new jewelry sets and 4 new sets of bangles. For those of you not in the know – I typically sell my sets with a necklace and earrings to match, in gold, silver or copper for one low price. I also sell bangles sets with matching earrings, typically highly detailed hoops of one kind or another. I want to say that well, I spent an awful lot of time on these items. The texture on the cascading bead set is well, a triumph of sorts for me. Yes I get excited when I create an awesome texture that I fall in love with…it’s true, I am a complete nerd. Please take a look and I’ve put a couple of shots out so that they hit the feed, but the majority of pics are after the cut. Jewelry Fair Time!

Hi all! It’s that time – Jewelry Fair time! The Fair starts on Friday, September 18. 100 jewelers in one place, all ready to show off their fantastic and newest stuff! I have a bunch of newness – and all of it is at the fair – I won’t have it in the shop for a bit! So go to the fair. Oh and I have a lovely little tidbit for you if you stop by my booth. So if you follow me on plurk at all, you’ll realize how utterly boring I actually am. In any case, I’ve been whining about the cost of a certain pair of boots and after being convinced I needed them discovered that I cannot have them in brown – waaaaahhhhhh. Since I have the patience of a gnat, I decided I needed to go to plan b. You see I had this idea for an outfit, and it was coming along brilliantly till I got stopped at boots. And I wanted thigh high boots….and I wanted brown. Anywho here we are. I remembered than that I had these simply brilliant boots from HOC. At the knee I felt they were close to the look I wanted. But they needed to be dark brown. They are color change but the brown for color change was too light for me. I ended up choosing grey with a brown tint on it. I think it works. I found the jacket for this outfit at Lookr and love the blue and brown combination with the cuffs. The shorts I found because of the fabulous Beanie Canning, who somehow manages to locate the cutest things EVER! I saw them on her blog and had to have them. That’s about the time I became fixated on the boots LOL! I decided that the whole thing needed leggings. Jewelry is my own mussed up set, which seems to lend itself to a variety of looks. The hair is from Shag, the textures are simply yummy. The skin is a group FREEBIE from Chai. Look at this skin OMG and it’s a vibrant blue liner. For this look I went with tone 4, my old standby from the doubleshot line. I dunno the whole thing works for me! Hope it works for you!
