Sometimes, it’s just all about the coat.

Woah! I saw this coat on the feed and knew I had to have it. More awesome-y goodness from ms. Deschanel. I love this coat – I would buy this coat in RL. This coat from Sn@tch is an outfit making coat – the kind you wear over your pajamas to run to the store cause you know it looks good with ANYTHING – it’s a real statement piece! (plurk girl kiss here to Ivey) I’ve paired it with the zebra striped spring halter and old freebie white jeans from Cupcakes. My own eva hair, catty eye glasses and star flower earrings. The KILLER heels from Aphrodite Creations which for me are a wardrobe staple. The perfect base for any SL outfit is the skin, and I’m wearing the new Chai Nova – a stunning pale shade that I find irresistable. This is the Midnight F tone which I chose for the red lips. I can hardly wait for more. So I KNOW I should have new releases out. I do have some lovely new stuff, but I’ve decided to hold it for the Jewelry Fair which will be upon us soon. Oh yes, it’s been a while. Falling down on the job and all that. Busy RL rears its ugly head. Then I go to look for something and find something completely different. This sweater from Rhapsodie. And all the disparate pieces seem to fall into place. It’s a me sweater, as in, I’d totally wear this in RL..I love the color, I love the quality, but more than anything else, I love the price. This little beauty was $38L. I pulled out a skirt that I’ve blogged in another color from Axel. And the lovely shoes from Shiny Things that I seem to be wearing a lot lately! The lovely and warm skin from League. Out for a day of shopping! The color combo works for me too. Oh and all older pieces of mine (well not that old….). Oh by way of an announcement – expect some big changes in the next month or so. I have a lot of events coming up – the Jewelry fair looms on the horizon. New Stuffage at Dark Mouse!

Hello out there! Yes! (punches fist in air) I finished my new releases – creating the actual stuff is usually the interesting part, taking pictures and boxing it up is the boring part… Anywho – I give you – 2 new hair styles, Felicja and Helena. Both are fun pony tail styles. The skins I’m wearing in the ads are, CS Vogue and dHR Gorgeous. My new jewelry set is called, Abalone Dreams, a lovely pendant, earrings and bangles set in either gold, silver or copper. This is a great set that will go from casual to fancy in a heartbeat. I am bored today…oh so bored. HAHA, it’s my favorite EVER commercial from DHL – the french guy drinking coffee in a cafe, staring morosely at his packages to be delivered. I cannot for the life of me find a video of it online, so if anyone can, please send me the link! Anywho, what to do when bored??? Write a stream of consciousness blog post? No, go on a hunt! Yes, yes, I’m the first one to sneer at hunts, but this one (stepping stone hunt) is really, really cool. It’s amazing what a bit of quality control will do. Also, it re-introduced me to a store that I had almost forgotten about – DuckNipple. Sooo, went shopping and got this lovely little dress! Awesomely cute, IMHO. Soooo I have this old habit of working on a bunch of different things at once. Which at present, I’m doing. If all the planets align, I may manage to get it all out this weekend. In the meantime, I’ll simply tease everyone…erm I think – would love to know if I’m teasing lol. First up a new hair I’m working on. Still tweaking but I think the basic outline is in place. I have a necklace in progress and…wait for it….new belts. Jeez really? Yeah really, I’m stuck on the belts though. Oh and a shinier metal texture for the necklace…oh and a couple of more flexi pieces for the hair. Isn’t it great to be me? I apparently have too much on my plate! Ah well. It will all get out eventually. In the meantime I’m distracting myself with RL work and a mashup. This outfit is a bit goofy, but I dunno I like. I thought the tights would look cute with the dress, I’m wearing the Vint boots from Shiny Things, truly a beautiful boot. The purse is from Barerose, a great place for bags. Because on plurk, they understand how crazy I really am, I was able to buy the skin I’m wearing….don’t ask, but lets just say the Teena Basivi and Samara Barzane are the bomb LOL! I love this skin, it’s the dhR skin gorgeous purple doncha know…. I have to confess, the feet are not, erm, adorable. But the rest of the skin is! The jewelry is my own hearts and love pieces…Why would anyone combine orange and violet you ask? I am bored today…oh so bored..

The reason I come back.

I’ve thinking a lot about my second life lately. About my business and building and photoshop. All these things that I do on a daily basis that have completely altered how I live my real life. Logging into SL and plurk first thing in the morning. Checking on the business for notecards, and customer issues. Trying to decide what to work on next, overcoming feelings of self doubt, reading the latest drama. Determining how to fit my desire to create something new into the time available. Trying to find the time to learn how to do something. Lately it’s been hard. Sometimes creating is like a wave rolling towards the beach – starts out slowly as a swell and as I get closer to either 1) the original intention 2) a new direction – I determine if I am either happy or disapointed with the end result, the wave crashes against the beach or just peters out. Feeling rather moody today. Whenever I think about my SL, I think about where it all started – the Ivory Tower. I landed there shortly after rezzing – about a day to be precise. I immediately started building a house. The many other builders at the tower helped me out – HAHA I had no idea that I could drag stuff around using the arrows OR that my camera moved. Can you imagine? Well I’m sure you can. A very dear friend that I’ve not spoken to in a long while showed extraordinary patience in showing me how to move stuff around. I’m almost 2 and 1/2 years old in SL, and sometimes I feel completely jaded while at other times, I feel like I don’t know anything. Soon it will be time to make a change, I think, if I can get up the guts to do it. In the meantime, I felt compelled to share my favorite place with you. This is the place where my friends are in SL, the thing that keeps me coming back. I wonder what it is that keeps you coming back? I chose to put my store within viewing distance of the Tower – if you’ve never been, you should go. Did you know that Natoma is one of the beta sims? The very first sims in SL. Just hanging out in Sin City

In lovely Las Vegas this week! Doing the business thing during the day, and doing the hanging out thing in the evening. I’ve been adding to this outfit over the last few days, ever since I acquired the SUPER AWESOMELY adorable polo and sweater from Naive! I lurve this top. It is perfect for hanging out. Since I’m not always hanging out in SL in my ball gown with my galpals, this fits the bill. A lot of the time I’m bald lol since having hair on is not conducive to making jewelry. Of course if I’m building I’m wearing my trusty SLink jeans, the most awesome skinny jeans ever! I’m wearing one of my own newer hair styles, Elzbeita in Dark Brown and some of my older jewelry pieces! Trainers from ETD and the cute Hemp Bag from HOC finishes the outfit. Heck I feel like shopping more. I think I’ll do that!

New Jewelry Set Release at Dark Mouse

Oh I know I said I’d have the new set out on Saturday, but it just wasn’t in the cards! There were soccer car pools to arrange for, business trip to pack for, sushi dinner to be had. In between all that I managed to finish off my new set, which I’m calling, Flowers on Fire. The set comes in Copper, Gold and Silver, and the gems are different in each. I hope everyone likes them, here’s a slurl to the store! Oh and just a reminder – if you like one of my sets – buy the fatpack. It’s the best deal in town.

Flowers on Fire

So I was inspired to create this necklace that I’m calling ‘Flowers on Fire’ by an old victorian necklace I saw in a shop. Of course the end result looks NOTHING like the original, which happens frequently to me when I am inspired by something. The original was gold with pink stones. I think it was the shape of it that I probably liked, as the necklace retained that feature. I don’t have this necklace available yet in the store, but hope to SOON. I wish there were more hours in the day for me to spend on SL, but regretfully, there are not. I wanted to pair the necklace, which I see as lush, with something well, spare. Well you can’t really get any sparer than this STUNNING bikini by Miel. I love every single thing that comes out of that shop. I’m in their subscriber group, so I scored their group gift this month, which as serindipity would have, works perfectly with the outfit! I finished this off with my lovely sandals from Shiny Things! The skin here is League, which is equally lush, IMHO. Can I has it in pale PLEASE!!! I’m begging now!!! Any who, the whole shebang worked out well don’t ya think? I will have this jewelry set available in Silver and Gold also, here it is shown in Copper. OH! and the hair is an oldie but a goodie and lovely dropped ponytail from ETD in Copper Blackened….
